Why can someone render this kind of attacks?

There are several possible reasons…most common are:

Fighting the competition - dirty way

This attack could be generated (or ordered) by company which business is directly threatened by Invoice Tracking Hybrid. Since Invoice Tracking Hybrid is completely free, very popular and it had unique design and architecture, companies that are selling less efficient invoice tracking solutions would love to see something like this happened. In the stead of improving there own solutions, some companies use this type of illegal activities to get read of competition. To see the list of possible candidates, just do search for “invoice tracking software” and look at the “sponsored” ads.

    Selling protection

Companies that are selling you protection software will also run out of business if there are no new attacks, viruses etc. Therefore, they have interest in (someone) making such attacks as well. For example, “Avast” company that creates virus protection software placed our Invoice Tracking Hybrid illegally on its list of “unsafe” products and we are still waiting for “Avast” lab results although we know that our software is completely harmless.

    Frustrated programmers

Finally, there are (group of) individuals who once attempted to be real programmers and build something useful but soon realized that it’s not as easy as to destroy something. This poor people don’t have enough knowledge to build functional programs, so they use there limited abilities to sabotage things they can’t create. But since they are not that good on the first place, this is less likely scenario then the first two.

As for “how can we protect our product from future attacks”…simple: we will require more information from users, including charging details (credit cards) before they can open Invoice Tracking account. There will be no anonymous access into system.
