I purchased your latest software with the intent of using it to look at a client’s activity for 2005. Apparently the client uses a prior version because the backup will not load. Can the old data be converted? If so, how?

My Money Vista is capable of converting old backup data automatically regardless of the version used to create My Money Backup file (*.mmbk).
All you need is your client backup file and password your client used when he/she created the backup.

Remember, when My Money restarts, you must use the password your client used to create his/her backup file.
p.s.
If you still have problems loading your client’s backup file, verify that he/she used our product to create that file. It’s possible that you are trying to open a file created by a different software or an illegal copy. Early versions of My Money were hacked and distributed by several illegal sources. If your client used our software but forgot backup password, please provide us with the backup file and your client’s basic information with backup recovery authorization email, sent from the same email he/she used to purchase My Money. In that case, our technicians can attempt to manually convert your client’s file.

No sir, mbf files are not created by ZPSSoft My Money software.
It could be that your client was using Microsoft Money…but since you only have the file you are referring to, I suggest that you contact your client and obtain all relevant information ( software, version, password etc).
